This very rare large hinged pin features the storybook of "Sleeping Beauty".  This pin was inspired by the Sleeping Beauty prop storybook shown during the brief live-action prologue sequence before the film in 1959. The cover of the book features a brassy gold with enameled "jewels".  The outer border has enameling of jewel colored gemstones. An inner border/box reads "Sleeping Beauty". Beneath the text are outlines of curling vines, thorns and leaves and enamel "jewels".  When opened, the left inside cover features a detailed outline of the three good fairies (Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather) flying, trailing fairy dust from their wands. On the right side, the pin features an ornate vintage book page. It features a photo of Princess Aurora dancing with Prince Phillip in pink clouds.  There is text underneath and to the right which features a large calligraphy "A" which reads "and they lived happily ever after". The pin is backstamped "Walt Disney Archives Collection EST. 1923". It measures 2.5" x 2.25" and comes on its original D23 black velvet backer card.
